Reconstructed, I believe. It depends on the state. Several have an R-Title for reconstructed, meaning it was in an accident. Florida has a B-Title for rebuilt... same thing as far as I know.
Basically, the vehicle in question was given a salvage title, but repaired and certified as rebuilt by a shop who sells the brand (at least that is normally how it works).
I would not buy a vehicle with an R-Title. It has been wrecked, and you never know what exactly could be wrong with it. Your best bet is to find another one.

Thanks a lot. That's what I get for looking on E-Bay.
Yeah, avoid salvages

I had a salvaged truck, and while it met the standards to be sold, it had a million problems as time went on.
Bikes depend too much on precision to stay "afloat" - I'd avoid a salvage.

I ride a 96 honda 1100 ace that is salvage, other than fixing a bad left peg and turn signal all its needed was the usual 16k maintanence (it had <16k when I bought it) and every entry in the service book listed as 'check/replace as needed' I went ahead and replaced...result, it runs like a top, no problems but my own F-Up's (like breaking the brakelight switch...long story on that one

)
besides, as a first bike, I neeeded afordable and large enough to fit me and wouldn't break the bank if I dropped it, as any noob is going to do.
