Having been off motorcycles for 22 yrs, I have just bought a Kawasaki vn 1500 classic d2(97) to travel back and for to work (130 miles of motorway round trip).
It's been wet, and cold but have enjoyed the last 3 week and put approx 1900 miles on the low 5700 miles clocked in the last 9 yrs.
Motorway riding it gives a respectable 45 mpg at 75-85 mph falling to 40 mpg 85-90mph.
Not what you would call a commuter bike, but I need the comfort to cruise the distance. The first bike I looked at was an ER5 (which reminded me as a 500 twin of my old Tiger 100) but couldn't face being bent over the tank for 2 1/2 hrs a day.
As I am riding through the winter has anyone used ACF 50 and is it ok for paint and hot metal surfaces.

Welcome
:) never used ACF-50, only a cheap WD-40  still better than nothing. I have read that ACF-50 is good for exhaust and metal surfaces, nothing good for paint..
