On "The Loop" of curvy roads north of Atlanta. Averaging a serious accident every two days. Not exclusive to Atlanta, it happens on nearly every curvy road all over the country.

A very informative and balanced segment, in my opinion. They back up the observations with video.

What SHOULD be done? What CAN be done?

I can't watch it because I'm at work, anyone want to give me a quick summary? That's where I live, so I'm curious...

They stressed over and over again in the video that it was "...a small percentage of riders that are making the mountains unsafe..." Hopefully that message doesnt get drowned out buy people traveling 100+ MPH.

Cam, this was a video from a investigative unit Fox News 5 doing a report on all the accidents on "the loop". This is a mountanous stretch of three highways in north Georgia. They interviewed two people who were injured by reckless sport bike riders, and promised tomorrow to have more info about how fast people were riding.

<edit> they say there is an accident ever 2 days on "the loop", and since January there have been 13 fatalities.

Good lord....

having watched the first half of this video (Bikes are bad mmmkay?)

So where are the reports on how many car accidents? How many of these bike accidents are caused by the car drivers? Bunch of propaganda....

Crap crap and more crap.

why report on this? if by their own admision there is only a small percentage of the bikes are the problem?

Northern Pete, why not watch the whole segment then offer your opinion?

I didn't get "bikes are bad," I got "SOME bikers are causing problems for everyone."

Biased in what way, exactly?

IIRC, they didn't talk to those sportbike riders and get their side of the coin.

but yeah, they did mention that it was only a small group. so i give them props for that.

I absolutely agree. They made a strong point throughout the segment that it's a small number of bikers causing the problems, and that the vast majority of people on bikes are riding safely.

This wasn't a "bikes are bad" piece. It was a "small group of riders are consistently killing themselves and terrorizing everyone else."

plus, those guys that ride really fast isn't the problem.

it's the guys that ride really fast that are inexperienced that are causing most of the problems.
