ANAHEIM, Calif. A man with a broken leg crawled 75 feet up a remote hillside after crashing his motorcycle, then had to spend the night in the open waiting for rescue, officials said.
The 47-year-old man tumbled down the hillside with his bike in the Cleveland National Forest on Monday, said Capt. Stephen Miller of the Orange County Fire Authority.
After climbing 75 feet, he collapsed 15 feet from the top of the slope, in an area with no cell phone reception.
He kept crawling and crawling, but he just couldn't make it to the top, Miller said.
The man was dehydrated by the time two other motorcycle riders found him Tuesday, but he was later listed in good condition at a hospital in Anaheim, authorities said. His name was not released.
