Nooby! Having trouble keeping on 94 yamaha Seca 2

#1 Unread post by skylinett2002 »

okay, the bike turns on and i have the choke fully opened and when i open the throttle it turns off on me. What i noticed is that on one of the carbs there's a sound like "poof". I put starter fluid and that's the only time that it starts and then after like 10 to 20 secs it turns off. :frusty: Can somebody help me out.

Check for sticking float valve needle or incorrectly set float level. Float level too high = rich fuel air mix and float level too low = lean mixture.

Sticking float valve needle is a common problem.

I should add that it is probably best to avoid using starter fluid as it washes the cylinder walls of lubrication.
