Rear Disc Brakes vs. Rear Drum Brakes

#1 Unread post by wickedrider »

What are the benefits or detriments of having one or the other? I notice that Honda still uses rear drum brakes.

Drum brakes aren't as effecient or as powerful.

On a rear brake it doesn't really matter either way. Especially on a cruiser.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Discs brakes provide more stopping power for their weight, and are much more resistant to heat induced fading.
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.
