Bikers raise money for charity "Love Ride"

GLENDALE, Calif. Bikers from around the country are getting their motors running today for the annual "Love Ride" that will raise as much as one (m) million dollars for 25 charities.

About 25-thousand bikers are making the 50-mile ride that started at nine a-m in Glendale and ends up at the Castaic Lake recreation area.

It was first organized in 1983 to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and is billed as the largest one-day motorcycle fund-raising event in the world.

Jay Leno, the grand marshal, will join Peter Fonda and Robert Patrick who will serve as honorary marshals.

Other celebrities expected to show up include Balthazar Getty, Fred Durst and Larry Hagman.

The Black Crowes and Edgar Winter will hold a concert at the end of the ride around noon in Castaic.
