Passed the MSF course two weeks ago, bought a used SV650 two days later. I've riden it twice since then, just exploring the backroads in our area. I know it is a grey area first bike, so I've got to be careful. I've really enjoyed the 80 or so miles I've put on it.
I was really looking forward to getting a ride in this weekend, but it snowed, darn colorado weather.
My wife just bought a M50 last weekend. Couldn't take it home because it had to be lowered. She gets it delivered tomorrow. Hopefully we will be able to ride together. Probably just around the neighborhood though. Practicing U-turns and quick stops. Gotta get good at the basics.
I've been lurking around these forums for a month or so. Thanks to your insight and knowledge I'm not as completely unprepared as I would have been.
Ride Happy!

If you and your wife take it slow but sure, you will have a lot of fun on those two bikes. With that Colorado winter coming up soon, make sure you prep the bikes for storage if you're going to let them sit for any length of time...

Thanks Koss and Dr_bar!
The bikes won't sit. 300 days of sun in Colorado to enjoy per year! Snow usually melts the day after it falls, if not the same day. I'm planning on using my bike as a daily commuter once I get enough experience. I'm already scoping out a back way to work with less traffic. I'm also looking into heated gloves/jacket/pants if necessary for really cold days.

Thanks Deedee and wrider!
Wife's bike is supposed to be delivered today. I can't wait to take a ride around the neighborhood with her. Gotta get some seat time in before we leave on vacation Friday. Cancun here we come!
We live north of denver, northeast of Boulder, in a town called Firestone. Once I am comfortable with riding in traffic I'll give you a shout. Still only eighty something miles seat time. Really want to start commuting too, mpg was one of our excuses for getting the bikes.
Thanks,
Thrill

Awesome, yeah, definitely let me know when you're ready. I have the 01 version of her bike, have had it since the beginning of August, and have put about 1500 miles on it... lol Commuting is great on a bike, except when you work at a factory, when everyone starts at 6 AM. Have fun, and do let me know, I'm planning on coming up sometime to see family and friends in your area (Fort Collins - Friends, Family, Bouder - Family, Longmont - Family)
