Moto stands

#1 Unread post by tigerclaw50 »

I am thinking about buying some universal jack stands but the guy said I don't need spindles. How do they prop the bike up? Also is $82 a good price for both?

A rear stand can lift the bike from the swingarm itself. Or you can get the spindle type and add spindles.

Their are two types of front stand. One raises the bike from the bottom of the forks. The other has a pin that slips into the bottom of the steering stem.

I don't think I would trust stands that only cost $82 for the pair.

Check out the Pit Bull stands. Very well made. They have a front stand that will lift either way. They also have rear stands that will work with or without spindles. Call them directly and they will answer all your questions. Very good people to deal with.
I would be the old, slow guy. Just let me know where you are going and I'll try to get there before you leave.

Hey, I'm thinking the same thing, wondering what stands are the better kind. I've read some reviews on the Pit Bull stuff and another from Stee Horse Fab. Who else has thoughts on stands?
