you can find really cool stuff on satelite view on google maps.
I remembered seeing a blackbird (plane) when i was in Manhattan last time, so it prompted me to look for this:

its also pretty neat to see the big hole that used to be the world trade center:

what cool stuff can you find on google maps?
If you can, take a screen shot and post here. I'll do that with mine when I get back from lunch.

No cool pictures but those aircraft carriers are amazing. There's a drydocked one down in Corpus Christi, the USS Lexington I believe, and back when I was in scouts we stayed over night on it there and took some tours on it (official and unofficial, easy to get 'lost'

in those things . Huge, HUGE ships. Incredible.
And the flight deck is even cooler since they still had some planes up there on display, that and the bridge = well worth it.

there's website called "Google sightseeing" or something close. It's got lots of cool pics but be careful of some of the links. Norton caught a virus from a linked forum

When were you a scout? Are you from CC? Just curious, I am.

I'm not sure I'd quite fancy being on a functioning aircraft carrier, with one of those leaking on deck, although the idea of launching one off a steam cat is quite entertaining
Is that a museum per chance? Seems a very mix'n'match line of planes

Yes. That's the USS Intrepid Museum.

No kidding. Second plane behind the SR71 looks like a MiG-21!
