It's been a busy weekend about the warehouse.

1) The Boss Hawg engine is assembled (383cid, 9.2:1 compression, Performer aluminum heads with 2.02 intakes and 1.6 exhausts, Plus cam and kit, 1.6 needle bearing roller rockers, Air-Gap intake and 650 cfm carb, 1 5/8-inch blockhugger headers), complete with a NOS Oldsmobile variable pitch torque convertor.

2) All maintenance items on the XL500 are complete.

3) New (for me) commuter bike:

2003 Yamaha TW200, 700 miles, new battery, perfect condition except missing right-side mirror. Runs and rides right, everything works, garage kept, never rained on. Never ridden on dirt. $1800. Good deal?

KBB lists a 2003, 5800 miles, excellent condition, for $2395. This bike is better than excellent, it is showroom clean, and 700 miles. Maybe another $300 for condition and low miles? Also, there's a 2005 in a local dealer with 500 miles, some minor scratches, tagged, at $2995, and he won't come down. KBB is $2770 for the 2005, 3300 miles. Funny thing is the bikes look EXACTLY alike, same colors, graphics, and everything.

Everything around here, new or used, is tagged up up 10-15% of MSRP or KBB. I've checked at 4 Yamaha dealers, and they quote $3999 (which they insist is MSRP for a 2006, but Yamaha website states $3799 for a 2007) plus $299 delivery and $99 set-up, for a total price of $4397, but none has a TW200 in stock, and they aren't sure when they will get one. All said if the next TW200 to come in is a 2007 there will probably be a price increase.

Trade in value for the 2003 is $1610, which would probably go up to $1800 considering miles and condition, so I guess I got a pretty good deal.

Yea it is a good deal. When you look at the book values on kelly blue book it should be between the trade in value and retail value.
