About a week back, myself and a couple friends were discussing license plates for some reason. The topic of yellow plates came up, because that's one of the things to look for if you suspect a police car is behind (especially with those "low profile" cop cars). Then it went to why do some construction trucks drive around with yellow plates. In OR, most all the license plates are silvery white-ish colored. I remembered my bike also has a yellow plate, so we came to the conclusion that yellow means you need some sort of qualification beyond the basics to legally drive the vehicle.

Kind of a random post. Any thoughts?

Oregon used to have yellow plates with blue printing. Maybe they're just old plates.
