My time came... I crashed. Wrecked the bike

Like in the Buddhism say, " when you time comes no one can save you, not even the god, if something is gonna happen its gonna happen." Well.. it was my time.

I always wondered how/when would my first crash be and how I would handle it. When my friends told me every biker goes down sooner or later I thought if it would happen to me. Well here I go sliding down.

Few Hours ago I was riding on Little Tajuga Canyon/ bouquet canyon, with Verm. Came out of a right turn and as soon as it was over I was entering the next left turn ( it was an S turn). As I was entering I guess I cam too much out side of the turn and caught the gravel front went sliding and hit the rocky bank ( bouquet canyon)

First thing I did was to see if I can move my arms and legs.. See if they are working or not.

Wrecked the bike. Starts and runs, but I think its got a bent fork, torn up(cracked) rim/tire. I am not sure if I am going to fix it or not. I might just get a new bike.

As for me, a little scratch on a finger, left arm kind of sore, Other than that I am ok, mentally and physically.

I had full gear on. Helmet took a good bang so was the elbow and knee armor.
Also I need new pair of gloves since left glove has been destroyed.

THANK GOD FOR THE GEAR. It was worth every penny. If it wasn’t for the gear I would have been hurt pretty bad( at least 4 months of recovery time)

Over all the ride was fun. And sorry VERM for ruining the ride. Also I really appreciate your help and time. You are a great partner. Thanks.

I'll be taking it easy for a while. At least until I get it fixed or buy a new one.

Get better soon. Bike bits can be replaced, people bits cannot.

It can take a bit of time for damage to your body to show. Keep an eye on yourself and get yourself down to A&E if you have any doubts about your physical condition.

For what it is worth I'm glad that you seem to be okay.

The bike damage is a downer, but its not dead and as said above at least it is repairable.

My first accident was similar, I spent ages going over it and came to the conclusion I was moving too quick in the corner to keep the line I needed.

I would advise you to do two things. Get a new helmet and get back on a bike as soon as possible, even as a pillion, just so your confidence isn't destroyed.

Ooh, Little T can be super tricky. There are a lot of hairpins (well, at least 2 crazy ones that I can remember) and I totally know what the rock wall looks like that you smashed into, ouch! Way to be smart and wear your gear. Hope the repairs/new bike doesn't cost too much. Were you riding your EX250? If you were and you have bent forks, I'd say F it and just get a new bike.... Let us know when you're up and running again!

I am okay. My arm is getting better as I am writting this...
Dont scare me....

I dont know if I need a new helmet, but need a new face shield for sure.

Just because you cannot see damage to the helmet, doesn't mean it isn't there. And since you only get one head... I'd take the steps required to protect it. Get a new one, or get this one checked out. Helmets are designed to break under impact, to prevent your skull from doing the same.

Once again, get better soon.

Glad you're OK.

You need a new helmet. Don't even think about strapping that other one back on. You should cut it in half now so you're not tempted to use it or let someone else use it.

true. It was bouquet canyon. I forgot the name..lol since we started off at little t

Also... that close call was an exact replica of the accident. Except I was able to recover the first time. After that close call, I kept reminding myself to stay off of the side of the road (gravel part). I was trying to enter the turn from outside and go in to the turn. guess It was too far out where I caught the gravel.
