Anthon, Welcome to TMW!
If you've never ridden before, a GSXR is a quick way into a pine box, my friend. Check out the info for new riders on the sticky posts at the top of the Begining Biker forum. There is some very valuable information there for first-time riders.

Yeah, I have to agree. I think a gixxer is a great bike to aspire to, but cut your teeth on something a little more tame. Once you learn all the ins and outs shifting, braking, counter steering, using your rev range, etc etc, then get your dream bike. It's always a shame to hear of guys without enough time riding getting killed or simply having their expensive new baby in pieces all over the road. You can get a Ninja 250 for cheap to learn on. Run the heck out of that little rocket. When you get bored with it, you won't lose much money selling it or trading it it. Welcome to the board! Let us know what you decide - you'll be welcome here either way.

AnthonMac!
So....do you have lots of riding experience?
Do tell....
My 1st road bike was a Honda 1000cc but I had 10 years riding experience prior.

Your right...... that's about it. You really should think about starting on a tamer bike before tackleing a Gixxer. If this is not your first bike, please disreguard....... If it is your first bike... bad joss....
