Spark Plug Tips
Spark Plug Tips
I can't get the spark plugs off of my dad's bike. Numerous times I've tried a dash of WD40 and they still won't come off. Unless I change them, the bike won't start. He just had it fixed this summer too. Any tips?

Have you tried tightening it a little more and then removing it? sounds dumb but it usually works with a tight nut.
Dyin'? Boy, he can have this little life any time he wants to. Do ya hear that? Are ya hearin' it? Come on. You're welcome to it, ol' timer. Let me know you're up there. Come on. Love me, hate me, kill me, anything. Just let me know it.

Let those things soak overnight, it takes time for the oil to penetrate the threds, also, a good liquid wrench is better than water displacement atempt number 40. If this doesnt work, you should use an impact wrench. You dont need a torque wrench and I hope your not seriously considering drilling them out.

+1 Never use a torque wrench for losening bolts... period.Shorts wrote:mmm PB Blaster is better than wd40 or Liquid Wrech. Try that.
Also use the proper socket for the plug and as long a break bar on the end of the ratchet that you can manage. You don't break a bolt loose with a torque wrench. That's a good way to abuse a tool that not intented to do that job.
Use a breaker bar... or if you don't have one... have health care, brave, and have no fear for doing less than smart things... or have a gullible friend, get a wrench and a long pipe
