Boots?

I am prepping for my MSF class this weekend, and was wondering if you guys had a good source of decent boots. I realize that there are lots to choose from at my cycle shops, but initially, i do not feel like spending upwards of $100.
Wal Mart has some that I like, for like $30, but the fit isn't exactly what I am looking for.
any help would be most appreciated!

Bottom line is if you want good boots that fit well, are comfy and gonna last at least a full season...you are gonna have to spend some money.
In the area of 150-300 bucks for quality.
Now if you insist on getting cheap....goto army navy stores and buy some jungle or flight deck boots.

heh, I typed out the same message just about as kingrobb. Decent boots will cost about $100.
Don't skimp on them, you may regret it later. In the motorcycle gear game, $100 is 'cheap' or 'really good'.
DH wears his flight boots for riding. While they hold up just fine, they really tear up his heels (not very comfortable).

You could wear hiking boots for your class. Just make sure the laces are tied tight.
Take your time to find the "right" boots for you.

if you're looking for boots *just* for the class, find a cheap pair that cover your ankle and are fit nicely... all they're looking for in the class is that they cover your ankle...
however, if you're looking for a pair that you'll eventually be riding in, as other suggested, invest in a good pair...

Yeah, i am just looking for the class really at this point, well and the first few days or so after the class.
I do want to take my time finding the right boots to ride in, and have no problem spending $150 or whatever for those.
I was more or less just asking if anyone knew of any decent quality ones around $50 or so....
Thanks, as always!

yeah - if it's just for class, simply look for something that will cover the ankle... walmart or kmart should have something in that price range...

Hey Vamp,
I'm taking the MSF this weekend too and posted a similar question in the total MC talk section
Here
I just got some tall work boots at payless shoe source. I really like the engineer style boots, but these will do nicely for the time being.

Any pair of comfortable workboots or hiking boots will do, just avoid leather soles.
