HE had never won a single lucky draw prize before but Lady Luck was certainly smiling on Sim Eng Chye at Starwalk 2006.

He went home with the most expensive grand prize of the Lucky Quiz at the event recently – a brand new 125cc Suzuki Step worth RM4,880.

“It’s unbelievable, I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard my number being announced as the grand prize winner,” the sales executive said, grinning from ear to ear.

Sim, 33, participating in Starwalk for the second time, said he had actually given up on winning anything even before all the winning numbers of the Lucky Quiz were announced.

“I am always unlucky and I never expected to win anything let alone such an expensive scooter,” he said.

Sim said although he already owned a car and a motorcycle, he would definitely keep this special scooter to remind him of his very lucky day.

Draughtsman Khor Chin Leng, 28, has been loyally supporting Starwalk for five years but this was the first time he has won a Lucky Quiz prize.

“I waited patiently with my fingers crossed hoping to win something but I was not expecting something this great,” said Khor who was one of the other four grand prize winners who each won a 110cc Suzuki Smash worth RM3,880.

It was first time lucky for production operator Norehan Bakar, 25, who was participating in Starwalk for the first time.

“I am so happy. I never thought I would win a motorcycle,” said the Sungai Petani lass who took part in the Women's Open category.

Although she already owns a motorcycle, Norehan said she would keep the Suzuki Smash and ride both machines.

Human resource business analyst Melissa Arthur, 29, won a top prize for the second time in two months.

She won the first prize of a 3D/2N hotel stay in Sydney or Perth in the lucky draw of a church event in Kuala Lumpur last month.

Arthur said she had not decided what to do with the Suzuki Smash yet as she does not have a licence to ride a motorcycle.

Sales executive Wong Chow Aun, 30, and his nine friends entered Starwalk 2006 with the aim of winning lucky quiz prizes.

They did not go home disappointed. While Wong won a Suzuki Smash, his friend, Ong Chin Chye, 26, got a DVD home theatre sound system worth about RM2,000.
