Moto's Bike Shopping Adventure

Spent all day today bike shopping here is what I found, one independent dealer had 3 each used 2005 Suzuki S83's all under 3K miles ur choice $5499, next, a Honda Dealer had one new 2006 Honda VTX1300C for $6995, then a Yamaha Dealer gave me a price of $8995 for a 2007 V Star 1300, took the Yamaha for a test ride, its beautiful! except the throttle has a 1/2 second delay in it, its kinda strange to ride, it feels very heavy when ur standing still but very light and light steering while moving. The Yamaha dealer reduced the price on the V Star 1300 from $11,200 to $8995 after I told him I could get a new Honda VTX1300 for $6995. Kinda like the Yamaha but the other bikes are a bargan. What one do I buy?

Moto you're all over the map here. Go to the up-coming motorcycle show in your area. Check out all the bikes that you may like. Sit on them and talk to company representatives. Arrange for a test ride on the makes models you like. When all is said and done YOU evaluate the bikes including the deals, (price, warranty, extras, etc.) and then YOU decide on the motorcycle YOU want to buy. YOU are the one that has to ride and live with the new bike YOU chose.
The point I'm making is if YOU choose the bike then you can't blame a bad decision on anyone else.

Well, definitely don't buy the suzuki, nobody wants to here your bitching for another 6 months.

And what happened to your mad skills that deserve a v-storm, so you can show up all those race-replica guys what experience can do... Kinda hard to drag knees on all those cruisers you said you wouldn't get back on after you had your fill of them.

I gave up on the V Strom 1000 cause the insurance is priced too high. when it comes to cruiser bikes only the Suzuki S83 fits me perfect, but Im not that crazy about the S83 cause its air cooled, small gas tank, and lackluster perfomance. The Honda VTX1300 is faster but its too heavy of a feel, the Yamaha V Star 1300 is fast and I like it but its expensive and it has belt drive. Going to make up my mind this Tuesday and buying one, just don't know what one yet. Right now im planning on buying one of the used 05 S83's and keeping my 05 M50 and selling the M50 myself next spring, and if I learn to hate the S83 I can sell that too this spring for the price I paid for it, and with the money I make from selling both bikes I can buy the Yamaha V Star 1300.

I've never seen someone contradict themselves so many times over a period of a few days. Which personality is it that started this thread, made this post etc.???? For a guy who has been kicked off of ATV forums for relentless bitching about belt drive; for a guy who has even brought it up in this thread about belt drive, not to mention ranted about it on this forum at different times, to say you are going to buy a belt drive bike is ludicrous. Then there is the whole Suzuki saga that we got to read about....over and over again but then here you are considering buying one. Either you are just a really bad troll or just have a multiple personality disorder. Get some help.

As you can see, I like the Yamaha.
I've had mine since new. Comfortable, easy to ride and lots of power.
Mine is the 1700 Silverado. Heavy? Yes, 750 lbs, but well balanced.
Excellent cruiser and so far trouble free.
(Now that I read the other replys, I know why I've been away for a while.)
