WORLD’S FASTEST MOTORCYCLE—THE BUB “#7” STREAMLINER—TO GO ON TOUR WITH 2006-2007 CYCLE WORLD INTERNATIONAL MOTORCYCLE SHOWS® PRESENTED BY TOYOTA
Santa Ana, Calif. – The BUB “#7” Streamliner recently made history becoming the world’s fastest motorcycle and scoring itself a place in the record books for land speed racing at the FIM/AMA Sports International Motorcycle Speed Trials by BUB. In celebration, BUB #7 Streamliner will travel with the Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows® (IMS) presented by Toyota for the duration of the 13-city series, allowing attendees the chance to view the world record-breaking motorcycle.
“Breaking the world record in Bonneville was one of the highlights of my career,” said Denis Manning, designer, builder and owner of the streamliner. “I look forward to traveling with the world’s fastest motorcycle and sharing the story with fans around the country.” Rider Chris Carr piloted the streamliner to the land speed record, registering 354.832 mph on the down run and 346.937 on the return—an average of 350.884 mph – at the Bonneville Salt Flats (Utah) on September 5, 2006. Manning will be on-site to answer questions from fans at the following IMS shows: Phoenix, Houston, Seattle, Long Beach, Calif., San Mateo, Calif., Novi, Mich., Washington, D.C., New York, Cleveland, Chicago and Atlanta.
“We have a number of exciting new features and displays on tour with us this year and we are thrilled to have the BUB Streamliner on board with us,” said Show Director Jeff D’Entremont. “This amazing machine recently broke the world record and having it on tour provides a great opportunity for motorsports enthusiasts of all ages to see this one of a kind bike.”
The Cycle World International Motorcycle Shows® presented by Toyota is hitting the road for its 26th year and will be bigger and better than ever with a number of newly added features. In addition to the BUB Streamliner display, the IMS series will showcase an interactive Welcome Center for new riders, exciting stunt shows, and bigger display areas for all industry segments. Also part of the IMS Series is Motocross America The Tour (in conjunction with the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum), the world’s tallest and smallest motorcycles, the Big Twin Customs collection, and custom bike-builders, such as Matt Hotch, and their award-winning bikes.
Kicking off November 3 in Phoenix, the IMS Series is a 13-city nationwide motorcycle extravaganza. All who attend are sure to be wowed by limitless motorcycle-fun and hundreds of 2007-model street bikes, dirt bikes, cruisers, and ATVs from more than 17 manufacturers.
