How long of a wait is there usually? I'd like to take it as soon as possible, and am just curious how long I should expext to wait. I live in New York (long island) if that's any help.

MANY's:
http://www.manys.org/manabout.htm is just one of the private groups that offer instruction. There is no state run program. The state oversees the training.
Check out
www.msf-usa.org for more detaila. I'm sure a lot depends on which site you choose.

They fill up awfully fast. You guys sound like you're in good shape but to others reading this, make up your mind soon and register! Don't let the riding season slip by because you got shut out of the MSF until August or even next year! It will become a scramble to find MSF seats much sooner than you think.
Cheers

Okay, I just called like two hours ago, but noone answered. I guess it's a nine to five thing, I'll try again tomorrow afternoon.
Another question though: Do I sign up over the phone? Or do I have to go down to the site to sign up? Or does it vary from place to place?

When I took the MSF BRC, all my local places had a 5-6 week wait. I checked the internet and found a place with an opening within two weeks. Keep looking!

The local community college here offeres MSF courses, so you might want to also check into those.

I just called. They're gonna send me the form. I also convinced my dad to take it with me

, now he just has to convince my mom

The lady said I'd be looking at like mid march to mid april. Costing me $350, but it'll be well worth it in my opinion
