I am trying to put up a picture as an avatar but the site keeps saying that the file size is too large..How do I shrink the file size?

To shrink mine, I downloaded Irfanview... Used the pic resizer feature on it. It's free, I like it, works well to mess around with pics if you're not too serious!

i used Microsoft Picture Manager. Simple and done.

I use Photoshop 7. There are any number of free graphics programs like GIMP, LVIEW, and Irfanview. Google these for a download site. Also please make sure you check the aspect ratio box when resizing, so your picture doesn't look all stretched out.
