Newb from Ontario
just sayin hello to all riders out there(especially sport and supersport riders). i live about 35mins outside of toronto and cant wait to ride in ontario this spring. i just bought an 07 gsxr600 and am dying knowing its at the dealer and i cant ride it yet!!!
also, im looking for insurance which is proovind difficult. ive seen quotes as high as $11000/year...my buddy only pays $108/month for his 00 f4i, so im hoping to not pay more than $250/month
any suggestions would be helpful, thanks!

Welcome aboard! Not sure how old you are or what your driving record is like, but those things play a bit into the cost of your insurance. What's hurting you the most, however, is your choice of bike. Not only is it considered a high liability to insurance companies because of the type of bike it is (crash-wise), but it would also be a high theft item. That's just how it goes.
Enjoy the forums, and good luck with the new bike.
Cheers,
Loonette

Know the feeling - bought a ZX-6R in Dec. and haven't picked it up yet
Weather is starting to turn now though so won't be long. For insurance - State Farm is good but may not take you on for a "bike only" policy. There's Kingsway, who are popular & also TD Insurance gave me a not bad quote. They require an alarm though for comp. coverage on a sportbike.
Good luck with the insurance thing - sucks to be young sometimes

I have my insurance with TD and they gave me a great rate, but they always ask "is it a sport bike" because they will not insure sport bikes due to the high liability.green meenie wrote:Know the feeling - bought a ZX-6R in Dec. and haven't picked it up yetWeather is starting to turn now though so won't be long. At least that's what they keep telling me.
