Has anyone used an automotive carb cleaner for their bike? I haven't seen any specific posts on it and was wondering if they are effective on motorcycle engines.
Thanks for any replies.

Generally they will work O.K. on still-gummy deposits, but won't touch real fuel varnish. You need mechanical action or ultra-sonic cleaning for that.

You might want to check the label and make sure the product is safe for the rubber parts of your carbs, diaphrams are expensive and can be hard to find for some applications.

Might also pare down the amount you add (if you are talking fuel additive-type cleaner). How much fuel does the bike hold, how much does the average car hold? You wouldn't want, say 15 gallons worth of cleaner in 3 gallons of fuel - I wouldn't think.

Not sure what the average tank on a car is - don't have one :-) - 12 to 15 gallons for a non-GSW (Glorified Station Wagon (SUV) :-D)?
