just thought id introduce myself. im 18, blah blah blah, not really intresting. anyway, i got an interview tomorrow to get a job and i wanna get a bike (after i pay off some tickets ) i just pretty much came here to read. I like supersportish bikes and (i dont know what the category is) but bikes like, the yamaha warrior. http://www.yamaha-motor.com/byob/warrio ... px?mid=505 i have my permit (had it since i was 17, renewed it a a while ago, might be expired again) but i will be taking the msf course when i get a bike.

Im still not sure what kind of bike i want to start out with. lots of people say the ninja 250 (small, light, nimble, cheap, etc...) but some people say it doesnt have enough power and a 500 is better (about 100 lbs heavier but more power) obviously im not looking for a race bike to start out with, but i want something fun. I like the f4i's too but i heard theyre not the best starter bike.

Anyway, just thought id introduce myself.

Always start small, but you also have to remember 're-sale'. An older 500CC should be just fine, just take it easy and be careful.

Also, if you have not taken any lessons, there is the place to start regardless the size of the bike.

Welcome! I must say that since you are so young, the decision to start small is a good one. Get a few years of riding experience and then look at upgrading. Save up your pennies, avoid the fuzz, and stay in one piece. Since you are already interested in the Warrior, I can tell you that it is a blast to own and worth waiting for. The Ninja 250 is plenty fast. If it fits you, it would be a good starter and probably easy to sell later.....if you take care of it.
