I just bought a 2006 harley sprortster 883r anhd was wondering what basic tools i need for basic roadside repairs and if there are kits you can buy with all the proper tools in it? I know Harley sells one but the price is astronomical like 300$ canadian.

what will you need for basic roadside repairs? The contents of a Snap-On truck, or just a buddy with a pickup truck

Just Kidding. I'm surprised that your bike didn't come with a stock toolkit - my bikes have always come with a small pouch with some cheap basic tools.

Cruz Tools makes small toolpouches with an assortment of tools that will work with most bikes. Alternatively, you can go over your bike and see what size wrenches etc you will need to remove covers, check fasteners, adjust/remove wheels, change sparkplugs, that sort of thing, and then just assemble your own kit out of your home toolbox.

Thanks

Just ask the mechanic who brings it out to you where the toolkit is (if he doesn't tell you anyways). I think it's usually under the seat or one of the sidecovers depending on what bike.
