A question for everyone:

What's your nickname and how did you get it?

Extra credit if you explain your username as well.

Here I go.

The nickname that I've had since my freshman year is "Kitty". I got it because I always had my head in some girl's lap and a few of my manerisms are rather cat-like. Yawns, stretches ( bad back so I got into the habit of stretching frequently ), etc. Some people also call me Kit Kat, but when they do I commonly tell them to "Gimme a break."

My username is from when I was playing Counter Strike. Back when I started playing I went by one of two names. Apollo and Frosty ( which was shortened to Frost after people kept singing "Frosty the snowman" ) the problem was that commonly both of those names were taken so one night I just decided to cram the two together, the rest is history.

Luckily, my nickname is just a variation of my given name. Everyone calls me Doug, Douglas is my Birth name.

My username is a bit different. I'll try and shorten the story that's in my blog...

I work for the Post Office, and there was another employee with the first initial and same last name as mine. I decided to add my middle initial as well to my time card so that he would stop receiving my overtime cheques... When I got my first cheque with both initials, it read, "DR Barton" and it became a natural for my first email adress, dr_bar. I've used it, or a variation of it for as long as I've been online...

Oh, and incase you don't think Doug qualifies as a nickname...

My nicknames vary depending on who I'm talking to. My name is Michele, so I usually get some variance like mischa or chele.

For my username - when I was 13 and first logging into BBS's, you had to have a nickname of somesort. I just made up Nalian. I pronounce it like Nally-Ann only as one syllable. It really has no meaning other than that.

My nickname is Gummiente. It's a German word that means "Rubber Duck". It's a long story that involves copious amounts of beer, whiskey and other spirits consumed over a four year period in Germany.

My nick name is Ziggy, it evolved from Zig-Zag because my riding buddies think I look like the Zig-Zag man (from the rolling papers)

My user name is the name of my business, I use it for everything, it started out as a way to promote my business while I enjoyed the forums.

Nice! I've actually got a friend here who's nickname is Ziggy, but honestly I couldn't tell you what his real name is...

You really think my name needs explaining? Surely you can guess the meaning of Buzz.....

And you'd be wrong.

My first bike was an old Indian (made in Italy and with a single cylinder 2-stroke  ) but my second bike was a 79 YZ-80. No powervalve, no high tech gizmos, just a plain steel silencer(sic) with the wonderful 'ball bearings in a steel bee hive' sound all MX bikes had back then. And I rode that thing 8-10 hrs a day all around and through my neighborhood, everyday. I quickly became known as 'that bastrd on the yellow bike who buzzes around town all day'. They were calling me Buzz when I was 8.

Later, I expanded on that name, and Buzz took on a second meaning. That seems to be the one most people latch onto.

My initials are my nickname: JC. Sometimes people just call me Jay. I never liked the name Justin and after the whole boy band phenomena I got annoyed with it.

As for my AIM name and TM name Viper is a after a car I'm obsessing about which is the Dodge Viper (any model). After that it's also my name in games like SOCOM and Battlefield 2... the catch is I have to be good enough in order to use it, otherwise it's Rofl McDofl (catch me on Call of Duty 2 + 3).

I don't have a nickname. My forum name came about because of my bike and eyes and colours.

I have blue eyes, my bike is 2 tone blue. It is a cruiser. I like to cruise.
Hence Blues2Cruise.
