Practice Tracks.
They have them in Japan and in Taiwan. You pay a user fee and get to use their track to practice driving your car or motorcycle before you hit the real streets. I think it's a great idea.
I've been reading up a lot on riding techniques, but finding places to practice them is tough, especially when you're a newbie. It would be neat if there were local tracks where you could rent a bike and practice all the stuff you learned from MSF, online and in books, so that when you get into the real world, you're that much more experienced.
Just a thought.

we have that here and it's free.
it's called "huge empty commercial parking lots"
anyway... i don't see that business making good money. a lot of people (like me) think that MSF is too pricey.
it's good if you can use it as a side job like this man i know and attended one or two of his classes. and yes, he just picks huge empty parking lots and setup cones, etc on it.
here's his site...
http://www.skillzdays.com/
it cost about $30 worth of donation for him to maintain it.

If the MSF cost $1000, it's still not too expensive if what you learn saves your life...

I may say that MSF isn't worth $1000. For $1000 i better damned have a 1-1 instructor.

i might pay $500 only if it the teacher to ratio was much smaller and the class was much longer.
id still be pretty reluctant to pay $500 let alone 1000

I paid $400 for the class 25 student, 4 instructors. Plus $200 for the helmet and $300 for the jacket, and $60 for the gloves I had to have to take the course (and was unable to borrow from anyone).
So that's $960 without knowing at all if motorcycles was something I was sure I wanted to get into.
