Cobra pipes and jet kit - need new air cleaner too?

Heres a question. I just bought a new '07 Honda Sabre and I got them to put the Cobra Slash Cut pipes on it and a jet kit but they steered me away from changing the air cleaner saying that the only performace one was $200 and required custom jetting, no kit. And they said it would be much more sensitive to temp and elevation and may cause me more trouble than it's was worth. That kind of makes sense but with the pipes and the jet kit wouldnt that call for more air intake? Idunno, maybe the Sabre is different. What are your thoughts on that? Thanks..

Stay with the stock air cleaner and air box!!! They told you correct. K&N filters are a pain in the "O Ring" to get jetted correctly. They flow way too much air for a Stage 1 jet kit. It CAN be jetted, just expect to pay the tech for the additional time.

+1
the k&n's work well with efi bikes but are way more trouble then they're worth for carburated ones
