Help needed!!!

I have a 03 Yamaha Fazer Fz600 and the battery has drained over winter and it has an MoT tomorrow morning. When I put it on charge again for a couple of hours it doesn’t seem to be enough to start the bike. I get a clicking noise from near the battery when I press the start switch(assuming it’s the relay) and from under the seat when the ignition is on.

I tried to use a battery from my brothers scooter (New battery and fully charged, showing 12.11volts) but to no avail? Is it because the battery is defective or the immobiliser is not letting it start?

A new maint-free battery should read above 13 volts. And putting it on the charger for a couple of hours is not enough, you need to put it on 10% of the rated amp hours for 10 hours. Then try it.

Does it start to turn the motor at all? If not you might have a loose ground somewhere.

It doesnt turn the starter at all and my headlights are dull. the battery Doesn t seem to hold a charge. When i connected a voltmeter the volts slowly dropped with just the ignition on. After i tried to start the motor it dropped to around 9V and was slowly dropping approx .01 volts every second so after a minute it dropped over half a volt. I never checked it after this.

Yours is pooched. If you set up the new one yourself after you put the electrolyte in (allow it to fill slowly) let it charge at least 10 hours, then let it sit for 30+ minutes and check the voltage. A maint-free should be above 13 volts at this point.

The local Wal Mart should have a new battery on stock to fit ur bike for $39 and the Wal Marts around here are open 24 hours a day.

MoT....He's in the UK. He would have had to have it running for the following day before it could pass the test.

I just figured out why your Suzuki is a POS. You put "poo poo" into it. I'm surprised it even runs.
