I am looking to buy my first bike. I am looking to get a Kawasaki 900 custom 2007, or a Honda VTX 1300c. I hear that the kawasaki has the same amount of horse power and torque as the 1300, but I'm not sure if it is true or not. I'm leaning more toward the kawasaki for the looks, but the 1300 looks good also the one with the best ride and power will be the one I will get. So if some one will let me know how much power and torque both of these bikes have it would help me out.

Trust me, you don't need a 900 or a VTX 1300 for a first bike... My Volusia is 800 ccs and it's plenty of power for my 300 lb. fat "O-Ring"... lol It'll do 0-60 in about 6 seconds and tops out at about 100 MPH. Anyway, definitely look at those threads Sev posted, and bear in mind that mountain biking for X number of years and riding dirt for another X number of years is still not quite enough for a huge first bike...

Second, not known as reliable to... you? Sure a few of their designs are dated (ninja 250/500 klr 650) but they still sell like hotcakes and i haven't heard of any issues with the old designs or the new

not for a first bike i wouldn't, the 1800 would be a cast iron beyotch to learn on. the v-star 1100, or even the 650, however, would be great bikes to start on, something that'd be fun, look good and most importantly, forgiving for a noob.

Thank you for the info. The reason why I picked the kawasaki 900 custom and the 1300 VTX is because looks wiz thats the two that I like the best. The Honda 1100 and the V-star 1100 I looked at both, but didn't like the looks of both of them for me. I don't understand what do you mean that the kawasaki isn't reliable. What kind of problems does the kawasaki's have. Thank you for the info its help me alot.
