Well Have been riding my 650 to work lately, well trying to sometimes. Well It has been a year since I ran it. I tore the carbs off and was amazed it even ran at all for all the rust dust in it from the previous gas tank. Well I cleaned them up good and put them back on. now it is hard to start and once you get it running, it accelerates just fine and kind of misses just cruising. Cruising it seems to run a bit better with the choke on part way. Are the idle circites still plugged up? It still doesn't idle quite rite after it is fully warmed up, need the choke on.
When it is cold it fires right off but won't rev up, as soon as you hit the throttle it dies. IT also seems like it is only running on 2 cyl, untill you can get it reved up. This is frustrating :frusty:
The best way to get it starting is start pushing it down the road and try starting it while moving and then it will take off if you can keep it turning over.
Just looking for any insight on what to do next.
oh yea, I moved from about 1400 ft to 3800 ft, will i need to rejet? Does seem like it is running fat but it isn't running right either.

Have you synchronized your carburetors yet after rebuilding/cleaning them? If you haven't, then you will need to do that as well as reset your idle circuit.
