How much will I be able to negotiate? Will I have to wait a long time to get the bike? Is there a lot of demand for these things? (I assume so.) Anybody have any idea what the invoice price on the thing is. I know there are sites, but I don't want to pay if I can get someone to tell me for free LOL.

it's all about the supply and demand in your area. so what others say won't necessarily apply to you.
fees they include are registration, taxes, freight, handling fee. these are inclucded in the OTD price.
so IMHO, if you can get in near MSRP or less OTD. then it's ok.

This is not spam!!! This web site
http://www.cyclebuy.com/ offers dealer invoice information for $20 per bike. I just can't believe that I cannot find a free site to get this information like you can with cages.

its the law of supply and demand, everybody wants a 250 Ninja and supply is short, so if you want one you better buy it right away or it will be sold to someone else, when supply is low and demand is high the price goes up, when supply is high and demand is weak the price comes down.

When I got my brand new Ninja 250 as my first bike, I paid $3100 OTD.
Another dealer in town wanted $4500 as the freakin' STICKER price.
Shop around. Buying new vehicles is pretty easy. You simply decide on the price you want to pay and you walk into the dealership and tell them what you will give them.
There is no haggling. There is no bargaining. There are no compromises. You dictate the price. Period. If they disagree, you leave. It's really simple. I never understand how people end up paying "more than they want to" for vehicles.
Hell, OTD my brand new SV650 was $500 BELOW the MSRP. It's my money. I pay what I want, not what the dealer wants.
Strange more people don't do that.

but yeah, on my 1st bike. i did that. i was ready to walk away.

You won't have a lot of room to move.
You can get the invoice price. Tack on 5-10% profit for the dealership and you are looking at a true number.
They have fees they may or may not flex on. Shipping is passed to you. How much they charge to put the bike together. If they bring one in for you will they charge more?
Know how much tax your state charges and precalculate it. Know how much the title and registration costs. Don't pay above that for them.
If you know your numbers, when you force them to break it down you know what you are looking at.
Know your manufacture warrenty is for 1 year. Are you really keeping this bike forever? Any time in the first year you can upgrade your manufacturer warrenty. You do not have to do it when you buy your bike.
Also, know what you want to pay. Be flexable on color if you can but many of us (including me) can not.
