Hello hello.

I recently found this site while searching for bike info and decided to join up.

Currently I have 2 bikes, the daily rider a 1997 Honda Shadow 1100 and the project bike a 1980 cb750custom.

Im bored with the 1100 so it will be sold away soon and the 750 has already been gutted down to the frame and is being rebuilt as a bit of a custom cafe type bike.

Well thats all for now,
see you all around.

Don't forget to post or link to some pics soon! That's about all we think about when we hear about a "new to us" bike!

Well as soon as I get the 1100 out of the garage and cleaned up for this season I will take some pics. As for the cb750, that will need another 2-3 months before its worth taking pics of. I only get to spend about 4-6hrs a week on it and there is alot to clean up.

As for the 1100 and being bored with it there are 2 main reasons. One I was hoping you guys could help me with and the other is never going to change. The later being that I am 6'4'' and feel cramped. Pushing the controls forward would help some I know but I dont know if that would be enough.

The other reason is that it just doesnt have any punch. I had a Suzuki Intruder 800 before this bike (talk about cramped) and I was amazed how quick it was. I could crank the throttle in 5th going 75mph and it would jump forward. The 1100 just chugs along with decent throttle response in the second half of 2nd gear and the beginning of 3rd but thats it.

Its shaft drive so I cant just drop a new sprocket in like my chain driven 750 and my local Honda dealer hasnt been helpful at all. So, unless I learn something here that will vastly improve the throttle response (without dropping serious dollars into a bike that is already half way to the curb) I just wont be happy with it long term.
