Can't get my seat off

#1 Unread post by Pegleg »

I've got a Kawasaki Vulcan 800C 1998 model. The batterie is dead and I can't figure out how to remove the seat so I can get to the batterie. I bought it used and didn't get a manual with it. Can anyone tell me the secret to removeing the seat??

My friend's '04 Marauder has a key hole along the right hand side on the side panel. Using the key in there will release the lock for the seat. Then you just grab the back and pull up. Maybe yours is the same?

My '04 Savage had a hollow side panel on the right side that locked in place to hold the toolkit and user manual. To get at the battery I needed to undo a couple of bolts holding on the seat and lift it away.

All in all, snoop around a little, then post some pics, we might have more ideas if we can see it.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I suggest you go online and try to find a manual. You'll probably be needing it.

Vulcan 800 seat comes off by removing the bolt directly behind the seat...then pull up and back on the seat.

Good luck
