Where are some good bike shops in Calgary? I'll be there next week visiting in-laws, and perhaps pass out a resume or two, and plan on doing some shopping! Unfortunately I'll be without the bandit

! I just checked the long range for next week and it looks like winter will be back for a short while, hopefully that will change.

What kind of experience have you got? I can probably put you in touch with a friend who knows Calgary inside and out. I'll get back to you shortly.

I am said friend
There are a lot of great shops in Calgary (I'm sure I'll miss some too)...
What kind of position are you seeking? Mechanic or P&A?
I work at Universal Cycle...formerly in Parts and Accessories for 2 years, now in the back. We are the largest independent shop in Calgary. We do everything from oil changes and tires, to tune ups, engine builds, and high performance carb'd applications. We have a race team that has two 9sec bikes from before 1980

We have a dyno, 4 mechanics (2 4th years, a 3rd year, and me) plus the boss who is a Journeyman Red Seal for 25+ years now. We're also a wrecker and we are now a dealer for Hyosung as well.

Yamaha Dealerships are:
Bow Cycle
Blackfoot Motorsports
Pro-Am
Walt Healy (
www.walthealy.ca)
I have a huge bias towards Walts. Simply due to personal relationships. Wone, the sales guy is a great friend of mine. If you go to see him, tell him Josh from Universal told you to go by. I have a lot of friends at that shop. Bow and Pro-Am are great too, and Blackfoot, while having a shoddy reputation, seems to be getting better with their service and they are usually the cheapest, simply because they're the biggest.
