I'll fix that up right away. :D

Your right, it's hard to control so many smilies as I forget how many of each type and what I called each version!! LOL

Related question, but kind not: what does one need to have installed to make the smilies move? They do their dances on my laptop, but they're static on my desktop. :(

That's a really good question as they are just animated .gif images. Are you using IE or some other browser? If your not using IE, try it with IE and do they move for you?

I am using IE on both 'puters. I tried it with Firefox and it still didn't work. Good to know that they're animated .gifs - maybe there is some plug-in I'm missing. I'll search around and see if that might be it.... :humm:

Thanks!

Yes, because they should work for you. Are you hitting "stop" or ESC or anything when the page loads? That will stop smilie animation...

But yes, they are all animated .gif's... I've never heard of them not working before... When you figure it out let me know as I'm puzzled too.

:dumbfounded:

Nope! not hitting 'stop' or anything, BUT... I did a search for 'unable to view animated .gifs' and found a site that suggests two solutions:

1) In IE, go to Tools - Internet Options - Advanced and, under multimedia, enable 'Animations'

2) Something with ZoneAlarm and animations.

I'll try them out when I get home tonight, see if they work and report back! :)

That sounds like a great idea. I'm interested in hearing back from you. I'm sorry I couldn't be more help to you, I've never encounted the problem before myself, but if you find the answer I'm all ears. :smartass:

I had that same problem a few yeas ago and I seem to remember it having to do with ZoneAlarm I'm thinking it's in the privacy tab, disable the control for ad blocking...

Sweet. It was ZoneAlarm. I had to update it to the newest version (7.0.337) and now my .gifs are merrily animated. My world is right again. :)

Thanks for y'alls help!
