I just bought a 1990 gs500, i test rode it on the road the shop was on and it seemed fine. So the slow speeds i was doing didnt make my problem show up until i got it home and did some real riding. ( how conveinient huh) but it seem to have a slight weave when im decellerating. and it feels a little unstable through a slow turn. Could it be the nature of the bike? or another problem? The steering head bearings seem fine, cant feel any notches or sticking in them. any thoughts would be apreciated. thanks

Could be a bent rim or the front tire out of balance slightly.

Could just be improper tire pressures - check that out first.

Could also be improper tires. Some bikes just don't like some tires.

Check the air pressure in both tires first off. Is the streering head slightly tight or notchy feeling? Have you tryed moving your weight around on the bike during this weaving to see if more or less weight on the front end makes a difference?

Might be tire pressure, how is the front tire? Is it worn badly or cupped? I have had worn tires act pretty crazy. Put on new tire - new bike. Hope this helps.
