Surprised?

I'm surprised that so many of you new bikers think that all there is to riding is going out and buying anything with two wheels.
It's a dangerous place out there, even if you're driving a cage.
It's just you and the air out there. No 3000 lb box surrounding you and somewhat, protecting you.
I read a lot of 'accidents waiting to happen' in a lot of your posts here.
Sure biking is exhilarating and a bunch of fun, but it's also a serious responsibility, not only for you and your family but also for the rest of us out here.
So please don't be so nonchalant about getting into the biking world. If you enter it wisely and drive defensively and safely, it can be one of the best times in your life. It's up to you.
There! I said what I had to say.
Welcome to our world and enjoy and drive safe.

And what do you define as a proper serious mindset?

Many people enter any new hobby with excitement and enjoyment. Many people learn along the way that their preconceived concepts are incorrect. However, we often have to experience something to find that out.

And if someone wants to go out and make life more dangerous for themselves, that is their choice. It is their responsibility to care or not to care about their family.

We do not all come from the same background and viewpoint in life.

It is as bad as a helmet vs no helmet argument.
