People stealing artist's content

Ok, some of you out there are artists, photographers, musicians, cartoonists, some of you out there just enjoy what these people produce.
Unfortunately there's a big problem with rich established artists stealing from whoever doesn't have the money to take them on in court. They blatantly take what these people work so hard to create, and get away with it.
How would you like it if you wrote a song and then heard it on the radio, being played by someone else who didn't give you a dime for it?
How would you like to see one of your paintings that you put your heart and soul into in a gallery, but with someone else's name on it?
How would you like to know that there was nothing you could do about it?
Well it's happening to hundreds of indie artists out there, who's content we so enjoy, and maybe some day it will happen to you.
What brought this on? Why am I posting this?
An artist named Tod Goldman is notorious for copying other artist's work, for changing one little detail so his lawyers can bail him out, but a little while ago he TRACED someone else's comic, and he'll probably get away with it too if we don't do something.

But what can we do? We can raise awareness of this problem so that it can be dealt with. Because if nobody knows about it, how can you resolve it?
I'm asking all of you that read this message to repost it, please. It doesn't matter if you like webcomics or not, or if you're an artist or not, because we all enjoy the content that these people produce.
Sincerely,
Alex Frost
PS: Sorry for spamming the forum, if this isn't the place for this delete it, but I feel really strongly about this stuff, so please don't.
