My bike won't start :(

Hey guys, I'll try to keep this short. :)
the other day I accidently tried to shift my bike to 1st with the kickstand down and it automatically turned my bike off, so when i tried to start it up again everything completly shut down. So i turned the key to the "off" postition, and turned it back to "on" and nothing at all happend.
I let the bike sit for a couple hours and tried to turn it on again, and the lights came on, digital screen came up. then i pulled the clutch in and pushed the starter button and heard a loud buzzing noise and my bike turned off again. :(
I have no clue if its the battery or what it is.
Thanks for your help :frusty:

You were trying to start in neutral this time, right? Kickstand up, clutch in? If nothing else works I'd try to disconnect my battery for a couple minutes, then hook everything back up and try again.

I second putting it back into neutral and trying again.

Modern (I use this term loosely) bikes come with an interlock in the kickstand. If the kickstand is down and the bike is in gear then it will kill the starter/ignition system.

Either put it back in neutral, or put the kickstand up, and hold the clutch in. When the bike starts you will be in first (I'd suggest shifting into neutral and putting the kickstand down so you can do your "happy dance" that the bike works :D) and you can just ride away.

Check to see if the kill switch is in the on position on the right hand switch gear housing.

OK;

Engine kill switch in proper position, bike in neutral, clutch engaged and nothing. Does it click, whir, or do absolutely nothing?

If it's clicking, I'd guess battery. Check the connections. If it whirs, I'd check the starter. If it does nothing, check the battery and try to locate the kickstand safety switch to make sure it isn't stuck.

It makes a clicking noise and then turns off completely.
Then i have to wait a couple hours to try again but it does the same thing.
When i try to start it, bike is in nuetral, Kill switch is off and kickstand is up. '

hmm... :P

Sounds like the battery to me. Take the battery to the shop to have them test it out.

I'd also suggest checking your fuses.
