sparking problems

Hey guys, i own an old 1973 Suzuki T500. Me and my dad just rewired the ignition so that now it is just a toggle switch. everything is working all the lights etc, but now the spark...We kicked it over and there was a spark...once...now no matter what we do we still get no spark, and the lights still work and everything. We went out and bought new spark plugs for it and still no spark...What would you say is wrong with it??

loose ground wire to the ignition coils??
