Rode everyday for 4 years, but that was 8 years ago. Finally convinced the wife to let me get another bike...well a cheapo used one first to get my sea legs back under me then probably a 1800 Cruiser of some sort.

I think I have narrowed my search down to two older, inexpensive motorcycles. If anyone has any thought on them please share.

1980 Honda CB 900. Very low miles, supposedly runs like new.
1993 Suzuki Intruder 1400. 37,000 miles and in very nice shape.

The last bike I rode was a Honda CB 750, so would I be biting off more than I can chew with a 1400 Intruder?

:welcome2: I'm a n00b so, I really can't comment on the bike choices.

Good Luck, Have Fun and Stay Safe Out There!

Welcome. :)

You'll probably get more responses to 'which bike' in either the new bikers or experienced bikers thread. Most folks look there for those kinds of posts.

I don't have any experience with a cruiser that large so I'll defer to some of the other folks.

Welcome to TMW.

If you have experience in the past, you would probably be fine on a 1400. However, it might be a good idea to go for a refresher course.

Whichever one you choose, just take your time to get to know it so you stay safe out there. :)

Thanks for the advice and help everyone. I went with the 1400 Intruder and the bike was great for the first 45 miles then crapped out. I had to have it towed to the service shop...well maybe now I can convince my wife that a new bike would be a better investment.

youch....that's awful. Hopefully it's a quick fix. Did you buy it from the shop? If so do they have a 30 day warranty or anything like that?
