Mapquest Expert needed.....

#1 Unread post by High_Side »

DOH!
Are there any mapquest experts who can give me a couple of pointers? I've made a route but want to take a couple of side roads but the only option that comes close is the "avoid highways" option. How do I select individual roads without towns? Any pointers for the chronically daft?
Cheers,

Get a real map......

Have you looked into BCAA trip tik? I haven't used it, but someone else did and thought it was ok.

Thanks Blues, but I am having the same problem using that map (and some of the roads are missing).
I'm trying to map out a simple route for a TMW get together. Maybe I will use a real map and a highlighter and scan it!

I use MS Streets and Trips, it's very detailed and you can even get real time construction updates...

How detailed do you need???

For mapquest, is there an option to set waypoints? If so, then use waypoints to make the route follow your choice of roads...

Brucey - you could just ask the mapper to help you... ;)

That being said, I am no online mapping expert but I could make you a map that would work.

Andrea :)

Done. Get Mike to throw some bungees in so he can strap you to the back of the V-Strom for the ride home......and no drinking until after I get the map; I don't want to end up in Powell River
