I am having troubles with the headlight on my yamaha 650 seca the light bulb is fine. ( I checked its continuity ) but some where there must be a lose connection. It worked fine before I did an engine swap on it, and now its no good. I was wondering if anyone had a wire diagram for the bike. Or any other suggestions. Thanks

I'd check for a connector that you didn't reconnect.

Get a Haynes manual from JC Whitney or somebody "Yamaha In-line Fours". It has excellent wiring diagrams that I used to bypass all of the dumb safety relays on the starting circuit - that's another story, but I have enough starter juice now.
If you have juice to your instruments and front signals, chances are the connection is loose inside the headlight.

Those safety interlocks are there for a reason... bypassing them is not only illegal but rather dangerous.

They're for people who don't think before they ride. If one is given to leaving the clutch out or leaving it in gear or leaving the kickstand down, then yes, someone should hold their hand. Not all of us need to be babysat by attorneys.

If you take the precautions, why disable the safeties? Shouldn't affect you either way.

Because that is the source of the XJ series "gremlins". I don't recommend this across the board ... Yamaha Legal sent Engineering a memo, and this is the result. Mechanics fix what is broke ... including poor engineering.
Look, relax. This is a custom bike and it's my ride; it's not your problem.
