Well kids, I'm more than halfway done with my BRC. It is Sunday midmorning here. I just finished our final classtime and written test. I scored 100%, that was cake!

We got an hour or so break before going to the final range session and skills eval. Sorry I didn't chime in last night after Day 1, I was passed out on the couch, barely finished chewing my supper before I "checked out".

I'm so freakin' nervous I wanna puke, or cry, or yell or just be done with this already - I'm sick of the parking lot! Yesterday was a mixed bag. Lets not talk about the 800 times I dropped my bike at a stop! I felt like an "O Ring". Ok, not really 800 ties, more like 2. No real reason I should have fallen. First was the powerwalking the bike doing the cones. Then you make the turn to one of three lanes. Well, I came up and had my bars turned left, tapped the brake, and of course, guess what?? The 2nd was later doing the quick stop drills. I did the stop in the box thing just fine. Then we switched to the stop on instructors cue, I went and wasn't aware we had switched, needless to say, I wasn't prepared and she gave the signal, I locked my rear brake, came to a stop and well, just didn't hold the bike up. Again to the left!

Got the bike to the side, rebent my gear shift lever back into place (good thing for the pliars factory tool kit). Got back on, got in line and then proceeded to finished the drill with flying colors. <non enthusiastic tone> Yay.

I kicked total "O Ring" in the quick stop in the box, all the cone weaves, cornering drills, shifting/rooad speed matching, clutch control chute, cali-stops.

At the box, the 10th and last exercises of the day. It was now 5hrs since we started. Hungry, tired, disappointed from my low points....first box run ok, 2nd box run ok, 3rd, I stall, have a go at it in 1st and proceed to just look like a drunk monkey on a scooter. 4th run same as 3rd, 5th ehh, a sober monkey...lets just say at this point I have complete disregard for the S-curves in the second have of the exercises, merely following the general suggestion. Since we were done, we were given permission to T-up as we felt ready to end the day. After the 5th or 6th of "eh" box performance, I decided to T-up and go home.

Well, I gotta head out I guess. For about 5hrs more of range.

Being tired, hungry, nervous and on information overload can make you makes mistakes.
It sounds like you did ok, over all.

Next time, take some extra drinks and snacks to keep your energy levels up. It will help a lot.

Hang in there Shorts.
The MSF is a challenge, but you have what it takes.
There is no shame in the struggle.

I almost broke down and cried at my MSF.
During evaluation, a girl in my class grabbed the front brake during a swerve and went down hard. She failed and had to be helped off the range. Thought I was going to barf.
I tell people that I have PTSD from taking the MSF.

Sending good vibes your way.

I just got back from an emergency snack run to the BRC class. Grabbed them some drinks, couple of powerbars, some beef jerky (Shorts favorite) and about a dozen cheeseburgers from Burger King. Hope the don't think I'm just kissing up before my ERC class next week, they all look pretty beat, instructors included.

Shorts looked good, better than a lot of the other riders out there. Chatting with one of the other students, he thinks Shorts is being way too hard on herself and she's been doing great. The entire class was impressed with what she's done.
