Old fairing....

So i got a old 83 650 nighthawk parts bike today (for free) 
and they gave me a fairing for it as well! The thing is the lower left mounting bar on the fairing broke off when i tried to rotate it downward "dry rotted plastic, sounded kinda like velcrow". Anyhow is there a way to repair it? Or am i out of luck? its a pretty nice fairing not sure the name of it... Anyone know if it is possible to get some new mounting brackets for it?
kinda off topic, but i get the feeling i should have put a tarp over it at my uncles house, seeing as i took the tank and all the plastic off of it for painting and its outside... in a thunderstorm... hmmm
