Yeaaa... Me!
I have to say reading all the posts here about the test, err excuse me "evaluation!", honestly spooked me. All i anticipated was the damn Box on day 2 and Uturns in it. Naturally, the first time we did the drills, i was awful. it was in my head. The instructors really mentioned, as most here, NOT to worry about the box. You can still past w/o the box!! I was very confident in all other aspects and did well. When we did the box drill again, i started in 2nd and did much better. Dont be afraid to experiment in practice and\or talk to others with the same bike to ask what works for them or not.
Come test time, i did about as good as i could in the box. I basically crossed the line once barely on the loop to the exit (-3 pts). Phew! That was a confidence boost as the rest of the test seemed like i was in control. I got another -3 for cornering too slow. I thought i was going fast enough, oh well. I will take my -6 and go about this very humbling experience. I know i need to practice way more, especially on my monster (500 more cc's than the test bikes!). But i feel confident, smarter and prepared.
Out of the 12 folks, 2 failed. One guy just never seemed to get it, he did well but always had some issues.
Bottomline, the box is daunting but wont kill you. Dont read too much here about it, we all have different skill levels. It is what it is, dont make it anymore than that.
