Trying to install a rear sprocket and noticed that the lug holes are recessed into the sprocket. The nuts are too big to fit into this recess and when tightened will only have about 1/8" contact. Should I mount the sprocket with the outside facing in, or just take the sprocket back?
95 CB1000
42 teeth sprocket 253-42
According to Vortex website thats the sprocket to go on there.[/img]

If that's the correct sprocket (you're sure the wheel hasn't been changed in the past? could be from another year bike or such...), then it sounds like you have the wrong nuts on there right now.
Or possibly the aftermarket sprocket is not correct for your bike. Sometimes the company will assume that since the same wheel is used on several bikes, their product will fit all those models, but some times manufacturers make small changes between models. Is it possible for you to lay eyes upon a stock Honda part?
