I know, I know... where the heck is Gananoque?! :)

My name is Mike and I am a bikeaholic. I live in a small town just east of Kingston, Ontario, in the heart of the Thousand Islands region. I'm a former Canadian Army soldier now working as a Millwright for a rx manufacturing company in Brockville, ON, and motorcycles are my passion. I've ridden pretty much all of Canada, Germany and most of the northern US in my 23+ years of riding on varied mounts; '81 Honda CX500 Custom, '71 BSA Thunderbolt 650, '86 Sportster 1100, '95 Triumph Thunderbird, '01 Triumph Tiger and a '99 Kawasaki Drifter 1500. I'm now riding my dream bike, an '04 Harley FLHT and have a '79 Dnepr MT10-36 that I use for weekend runs with my dog Hector. My sweetie, Angie, rides her own '01 Vulcan 800 Classic and the two of us spend a lot of time motoring about visiting wineries, flea markets, chip trucks, bike shops and whatever.

Looking forward to meeting all of you!

Hey, welcome aboard!

Gananoque eh? I get the same looks when I tell people I'm from 'Hubbardston'. Yeah, so I just use 'Lansing' instead now. ;)

So, your dog get his own side-car, or is he a pillion-pup?

Welcome Mike! Sounds like you've got some pretty serious seat time in. It's always good to see another experienced rider here. Feel free to impart your road wisdom to the less experienced sort - like me.

Actually, I used to do just that. I was a Canada Safety Council "Gearing Up" motorcycle course instructor until this year - I've stepped out of it to devote more time to my own riding. Selfish, I know.

[shameless plug for own forum] Well, if you want to repent for your selfishness, there's plenty of room in the safety forum for someone of your experience! [/shameless plug for own forum]

:)

anway, :welcome: to the forums, i'm sure you'll be very happy here!

Welcome aboard!
I actually know where Gananoque is, I go fishing near there every year. We go up to the Opinicon Lake, great fishing and great countryside. It looks like it would be a great place to ride.

Hi Mike & welcome! :welcome:

Since I am not the moderator for the safety forum, I have no shame in telling you to head there to add to the discussions. I am sure you will have lots of great information to add and discuss.

Andrea :)

Thanks for the welcomes!

Telesque, my doggy rides in the sidecar so he's more of a "chair canine" than a pillion pup. :) Here's a pic of us taken last Saturday:
