Crack in exhaust

So I noticed my right exhaust pipe has a crack on it. No wonder my bike's been a bit louder as of late...

Is this a bad thing? I do want to get it fixed but is it something that requires immediate attention?

Well, it's not a good thing....

That chit is hot. It's very likely to burn/scorch whatever it is blowing against, like your frame, swingarm, any wires or hoses in the area, your foot....

If it's really bad, it can cause that cylinder to run lean, therefore hot, and damage the engine over time. Your's probably isn't that bad yet, but left alone, it will grow.

I can't tell from your pic, but it is in an area that could be a joint between the header and muffler. Check it out, you may only need a gasket.

If it is really cracked, get it welded up at a muffler shop.

Yeah, it's the joint. I can post a better photo from my own bike tomorrow.

Time to consult the yellow pages for a muffler shop.

Getting a new pipe. Because I don't have a buddy that does welding it'll be cheaper if I just have a new pipe installed.

It arrives Thursday afternoon, hopefully the work will be done by Saturday.
